Don't Give Up (Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush)

in this proud land we grew up strong
we were wanted all along
I was taught to fight, taught to win
I never thought I could fail

no fight left or so it seems
I am a man whose dreams have all deserted
I've changed my face, I've changed my name
but no one wants you when you lose

don't give up
'cos you have friends
don't give up
you're not beaten yet
don't give up
I know you can make it good

though I saw it all around
never thought I could be affected
thought that we'd be the last to go
it is so strange the way things turn

drove the night toward my home
the place that I was born, on the lakeside
as daylight broke, I saw the earth
the trees had burned down to the ground

don't give up
you still have us
don't give up
we don't need much of anything
don't give up
'cause somewhere there's a place
where we belong

rest your head
you worry too much
it's going to be alright
when times get rough
you can fall back on us
don't give up
please don't give up

'got to walk out of here
I can't take anymore
going to stand on that bridge
keep my eyes down below
whatever may come
and whatever may go
that river's flowing
that river's flowing

moved on to another town
tried hard to settle down
for every job, so many men
so many men no-one needs

don't give up
'cause you have friends
don't give up
you're not the only one
don't give up
no reason to be ashamed
don't give up
you still have us
don't give up now
we're proud of who you are
don't give up
you know it's never been easy
don't give up
'cause I believe there's the a place
there's a place where we belong

Dear Kurt,
Today was alright, I got up this morning around this time but 12 hours ago exactly and had the two leftover slices of pizza from yesterday's dinner then I went to get the Sunday paper from the clubhouse; I got a whole big stack of gossip/entertainment magazines plus this book i've been wanting to read but haven't dared until now:

*shivers* Creepy, but i'll give it a try and if it's too scary then i'll stop reading it. I was looking through the Entertainment Weekly "2006 Preview" issue and went nuts because I finally found out who will play Tom Hanks' partner in the controversial

that will arrive in theatres this May, it will be

Audrey Tautou from Amelie!! :-D She's perfect!

Monica came to pick up Evan who spent the night here last night and to wash her car. I took a shower around 11:30 a.m and got all "Goth" to go out with my parents.

First we went to Stater Bros. cash in my paycheck, I gave half to my Dad and he was happy and blessed.

Second to IKEA, Mom wanted to buy this lovely blue sofa that she saw last Sunday so she remembered where it was so we walked to the section, ordered it, and got out of there in less than half an hour which surprised me! :-D The only bad thing was that this lousy American employee wasn't much help, he just pointed to where we needed to go and continued helping other customers, Mom and I just ignored him, he can't see how hardworking we are! This cute Mexican-looking guy helped us. :-) *giggles*

I had a Frozen Yogurt cone as I was walking with my Dad with the sofa in the flatcart, mmm.. tasty. :-)

We came home to drop off the sofa, which wasn't very heavy, and went to go eat at Carl's Jr.; oh my god, there I saw Mr. Utt, my Political Science teacher from my last year of college! I was walking to get more Dr. Pepper and I walked by him and just looked the other way, he's so lousy and Pro-Bush/Republican, meh... kiss my butt Mr. Utt. *laughing out loud*

We finished our Sunday afternoon by going to Home Depot and Target, Mom wanted to look for a lovely new rug for the living room; I went to look for an adapter to hook up the DVD Home Theatre so I found one, I saw the Ipod Nanos and my are they expensive but I hope *crossing my fingers* that either my next paycheck or someone on my birthday can get me one! :-)

We stopped by Stater Bros. again to get some last-minute groceries such as milk, cereal, and yogurt. We got home at 6 p.m. so I helped my parents arrange the sofa and hook up the DVD in their room; we both loved those two new things. :-)

*yawns* I should go to bed, i'm tired, I work tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.

Goodnight and much love,
Pancho Pantera

PS The song above is one that i've been listening to a lot lately before and after work, it inspires me. *sigh, smiles* :-) Such a beautiful song, I wonder if Kate is related to our "American Idiot" himself President Bush, lol.
